NLRC Enhances Conciliation-Mediation Skills Through Recent Workshop Seminar
QUEZON CITY – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) took a significant step in advancing the capabilities of its Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) Conciliator-Mediators with a comprehensive Retooling Workshop Seminar held from December 18 to 20, 2023.
This strategic training initiative aimed to equip participants with a robust set of skills and in-depth knowledge in conflict resolution, with a specific focus on conciliation and mediation.
Exploring various approaches to conflict resolution and emphasizing the fundamental principles of conciliation and mediation, the three-day workshop delved into the dynamics of conflict.
In mastering diverse processes and techniques, including interviewing, probing facts, and negotiating effectively with involved parties, the advanced training aimed to provide a profound understanding of conciliation-mediation. This was part of enhancing the skills of SEnA Conciliator-Mediators.
Specifically, the objectives of the training were as follows:
1. Provide Sound Theoretical and Practical Knowledge: Equip participants with a solid understanding of the key principles governing conciliation and mediation processes.
2. Strengthen Understanding of the Conciliator/Mediator Role: Analyze and reinforce the role and functions of conciliators/mediators in dispute resolution.
3. Offer Techniques and Guidance for Improvement: Provide practical techniques and guidance to enhance the effectiveness of conciliators/mediators in their roles.
4. Foster Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices: Create an environment for knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices related to conciliation and mediation.
5. Intensify Skills Training and Upgrading: Consistent with national standards, intensify programs for training, upgrading, and retooling designated conciliator-mediators.
The workshop enlisted resource persons from both the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) and NLRC, ensuring that participants received insights and guidance from experts in the field.
Aiming to elevate the proficiency of NLRC SEnA Conciliator-Mediators, the collaborative effort empowers them to navigate complex disputes with competence and efficiency.
This initiative aligns with the NLRC's dedication to excellence and its pivotal role in ensuring just and equitable outcomes in the realm of labor relations.
