NLRC Conducts Mid-Year Performance Assessment

The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) conducted its Mid-Year Performance Assessment (MYPA) on July 11-12, 2024, with participation from Presiding Commissioners, Executive Labor Arbiters, and other NLRC officials. Held to review and evaluate the Commission’s progress and performance for the first half of the year, the activity also served as a platform for strategic planning for the months ahead.

Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan led the discussions during the MYPA, emphasizing the importance of continuous performance assessment and improvement. In her address, Chairperson Maniquiz-Tan highlighted the critical role that regular evaluations play in ensuring that the NLRC effectively fulfills its mandate.

“The Mid-Year Performance Assessment is an essential exercise for us to reflect on our achievements, identify areas for improvement, and set our priorities for the remainder of the year,” said Chairperson Maniquiz-Tan.

During the two-day assessment, various aspects of the NLRC's operations were reviewed, including case resolution rates, implementation of policies, and overall service delivery. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Commission's processes.

One of the key highlights of the MYPA was the presentation of performance metrics and achievements by different divisions and regional arbitration branches. These presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the Commission's accomplishments and the impact of its initiatives on improving its services.

The MYPA also served as a venue for brainstorming and sharing best practices among the attendees. Executive Labor Arbiters and other officials shared their experiences and insights on handling complex cases, promoting harmonious labor-management relations, and implementing innovative solutions to expedite case resolutions.

Insights and strategies developed during the event are expected to drive further enhancements in the Commission’s operations, ultimately benefiting Filipino workers and employers alike.
