NLRC Empowers Newly-Hired Employees through Comprehensive Orientation Program

QUEZON CITY – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) once again demonstrated its commitment to employee development and empowerment by conducting a comprehensive orientation program for newly-hired employees.  Held on July 19-20, 2023, the orientation aimed to familiarize the new team members with the Commission’s various programs and administrative matters, setting them up for success in their roles.

One of the focal points of the two-day orientation was administrative matters, wherein the employees gained valuable insights into compensation benefits and privileges, ensuring that they are well-informed about their entitlements.  Additionally, the NLRC imparted knowledge about the leave benefits policy, enabling employees to effectively manage their time and achieve work-life balance.

Another critical aspect of the orientation was the introduction of the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS).  With the SPMS, employees were acquainted with performance evaluation procedures, emphasizing the importance of excellence in their roles to meet the organization’s goals effectively.

The orientation also highlighted the Commission’s commitment to excellence in public service, with modules on the quality management system, performance-based bonus and freedom of information.

In her welcome remarks, Acting Chairperson Julia Cecily Coching-Sosito emphasized the significance of the orientation seminar in helping new employees quickly settle into their new positions and assignments at the NLRC.

Eminent speakers graced the orientation, sharing their expertise and experiences with the new employees.  Among the speakers were Labor Arbiter Cherry P. Sarmiento, Deputy Executive Clerk of Court Atty. Purdey P. Perez, Director Elvira F. Cruz and Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Amalia L. Celino.  Their valuable insights enriched the orientation experience for the new team members.

As the NLRC welcomes its new employees, the organization continues to uphold its vision of being a dynamic and responsive agency, exemplifying excellence in public service. END
