NLRC Seventh Division Scores Another Settlement, from P160K Compromise Agreement
CEBU CITY – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) Seventh Division once again demonstrated its commitment to effective dispute resolution by successfully facilitating an amicable settlement in a labor dispute between a lone complainant and his former employers. Presided over by Labor Arbiter Tiburcio Adrian Umbac, a hearing took place on July 10, 2023, attended by the complainant, respondents and their respective counsel.
During the hearing, both parties reached an agreement and executed a Compromise Agreement, which led to a full and complete settlement of the claims. The respondents agreed to pay the complainant the amount of One Hundred Sixty Thousand Pesos (P160,000.00) in recognition of the resolution.
For the NLRC, the amicable settlement is an attestation to its dedication to resolving labor disputes in the fairest, quickest, least expensive and most effective and equitable manner possible. Such successful resolutions align with the Commission’s mission of fostering labor harmony and promoting social justice.
