NLRC Launches SEnA Understudy Program for New Conciliators-Mediators

QUEZON CITY – In a significant move towards enhancing the conciliation and mediation processes, the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) introduced the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) Understudy Program for recently designated Conciliators-Mediators.  The program’s inauguration took place on July 31, 2023, marking a pivotal step in fortifying the skills and competencies of these professionals.

Under this initiative, the NLRC has enlisted the expertise of experienced Conciliators-Mediators to serve as mentors to the newly designated con-meds.  The primary objective is to provide comprehensive training that hones their abilities in effectively conducting conciliation and mediation conferences.

This program spans a one-month training period during which the understudies will actively participate in three conciliation and mediation conferences.  Under the expert supervision of their mentors, they will have the invaluable opportunity to observe the intricacies of the process.  Furthermore, they will take on the role of conference leaders themselves, enabling them to put theory into practice.

As the training culminates, the understudies’ performance and readiness will be rigorously assessed.  This evaluation will provide insights into their aptitude for conducting SEnA Conciliation-Mediation conferences independently, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel in their roles.

The SEnA Understudy Program underscores the NLRC’s commitment to fostering excellence in conciliation and mediation practices.  By equipping new Conciliators-Mediators with hands-on experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals, the NLRC is laying the foundation for a more effective and efficient dispute resolution process.

The NLRC’s continuous efforts to enhance the quality of its services reflect its dedication to upholding the rights and welfare of workers and employers alike. END
