Revival of Dialogue Between Labor and Management Sectors in Cebu City

CEBU CITY – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) Seventh Division has breathed new life into the dialogue between the Labor and Management Sectors and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cebu City and Cebu Chapters. This initiative comes in response to NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan's call for the Commission to actively engage with stakeholders, seeking their perspectives to enhance the agency's services and operations.

Held on November 8, 2023, the dialogue saw representatives from various labor unions, management groups in Cebu, and officials from the IBP Cebu City and Cebu Chapters coming together. The aim was to discuss and address issues and concerns raised by both sectors and the IBP. Commissioners and Labor Arbiters from te NLRC Seventh Division and NLRC Regional Arbitration Branch (RAB) VII actively participated in the discussions, fostering an environment of collaboration.

During the dialogue, attendees shared their concerns, ideas, and perspectives, reaffirming their commitment to full support for tripartite cooperation, ultimately contributing to the maintenance of industrial peace. Commissioner Nendell Hans L. Abella of the NLRC Seventh Division highlighted that the dialogue with stakeholders was part of the week-long celebration marking the NLRC's 49th Founding Anniversary and Labor Relations Week.

"Hopefully, we can sustain this initiative, making it an annual event to continue fostering dialogue with our stakeholders," Commissioner Abella expressed, emphasizing the importance of ongoing engagement to address evolving concerns and maintain positive relations between labor and management sectors.

Fostering meaningful dialogue underscores the NLRC’s dedication to promoting harmonious and productive labor relations.
