NLRC 5th Division Facilitates Amicable Settlement in Employee-Employer Dispute
QUEZON CITY. – In a notable display of mediation and fairness, the Office of Commissioner Dolores M. Peralta-Beley of the National Labor Relations Commission's (NLRC) 5th Division successfully facilitated an amicable settlement between a merchandising manager and her employer.
Earlier, the complainant had filed multiple causes of action, including claims for illegal and constructive dismissal, money claims, and damages.
During the pendency of the appeal, the case, previously elevated to the 5th Division, bore the indications of a possible settlement.
Commission Attorney Irene Mae R. Madayag, overseeing the process, ensured that both parties comprehended the implications of the possible compromise. It was emphasized that the Commission recognizes the validity of settlements at any stage of the case, provided the terms and conditions are deemed just and fair.
In line with the mutually agreed terms, the complainant received a settlement amounting to P3,300,000.00, signifying the equitable resolution of the dispute between the parties involved.
This case exemplifies the NLRC's commitment to promoting fairness, understanding, and amicable solutions in labor-related conflicts, thus reinforcing the Commission's role as a facilitator of justice and harmony in the workplace. END
