NLRC Holds Hybrid Seminar on Labor Standards Updates in Celebration of 50th Founding Anniversary

In commemoration of its 50th founding anniversary, the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) conducted a hybrid seminar on November 8, 2024, focused on updates in labor standards. The event, which welcomed both in-person and virtual attendees, brought together officials and employees of the NLRC from across the country to engage in discussions on recent developments in labor laws, policies, and standards.

Labor Arbiter Leilani T. Braza-Oro, the guest speaker, provided in-depth insights into recent changes and interpretations in labor standards. With years of experience in labor relations and dispute resolution, LA Braza-Oro guided attendees through a comprehensive overview of updated regulations, highlighting both challenges and opportunities for enhancing fair labor practices. Her presentation aimed to equip NLRC personnel with the latest knowledge and practical applications to improve their service delivery.

NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in labor standards. She remarked that the seminar not only underscores the NLRC’s commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments in labor legislation but also serves as a reminder of its duty to uphold the rights and welfare of Filipino workers.

The seminar is one of several events organized by the NLRC in honor of its milestone anniversary. Other activities include a series of community outreach programs, recognition of long-serving employees, and a commemorative awards ceremony. The 50th anniversary celebrations highlight the NLRC’s enduring role in the Philippine labor landscape, as well as its dedication to adapting to the evolving needs of both workers and employers.

As the NLRC moves forward, the commission remains committed to fostering a balanced and fair labor environment. This seminar, along with other anniversary events, represents the agency's dedication to professional development and its ongoing mission to promote labor justice across the nation.
