NLRC NCR Arbitration Branch Facilitates P2.5 Million Settlement for 9 Fishermen
Quezon City — In a clear demonstration of its continuing commitment to just and equitable labor dispute resolution, the National Labor Relations Commission – National Capital Region (NLRC-NCR) Arbitration Branch successfully facilitated a settlement amounting to ₱2,531,717.00 in favor of nine fishermen employed by a manning agency.
Facilitated under the supervision of Labor Arbiter Randy F. Pablo, the settlement addressed the workers’ monetary claims following labor-related grievances.
Through the NLRC’s conciliation-mediation mechanism, both parties arrived at a voluntary settlement, avoiding prolonged litigation and ensuring timely financial relief to the workers.
This successful resolution highlights NLRC’s vital role in safeguarding the rights of workers, particularly seafarers and overseas workers in specialized maritime industries. It also emphasizes the importance of accessible and efficient arbitration proceedings in resolving disputes with fairness and speed.
The NLRC remains steadfast in its mission to protect the interests of labor while promoting industrial peace through responsive adjudication of labor disputes.
