NLRC Reopens KADIWA Pop-Up Store to Support Farmers and Serve Employees
Quezon City — For the second time, the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) opened the KADIWA ng Pangulo Pop-up Store at its main office in Ben-Lor Building, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. The one-day event, held on June 5, 2025, once again brought fresh and affordable agricultural products directly to NLRC employees and clients.
The KADIWA store featured a variety of locally sourced fruits and vegetables, poultry products, rice, eggs, and other food items grown and produced by farmers from Bulacan, Pampanga, Batangas, and parts of the Bicol Region. Prices specifically for fresh vegetables ranged from ₱60.00 to ₱95.00 per kilogram, offering consumers high-quality goods at lower-than-market rates.
In addition to fresh produce, the pop-up store offered processed goods including smoked and dried fish, meat products, and traditional Filipino delicacies such as toasted bread, hakobina, otap, and puto seko. These items provided employees and clients with a diverse selection of both staple foods and specialty treats.
NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan conveyed her support for the initiative, highlighting the Commission’s sustained commitment to public service and community involvement. She noted that programs like KADIWA not only benefit NLRC employees and clients but also provide much-needed support to local farmers by creating a direct link between producers and consumers.
An NLRC employee remarked that the KADIWA store ensures access to fresh fruits and vegetables sourced straight from farms, adding that the affordable prices offer value while directly supporting farmers' livelihoods.
The KADIWA ng Pangulo Pop-up Store will now be a monthly feature at the NLRC main office, open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as part of the Commission’s continuing partnership with agricultural producers and advocacy for food accessibility and rural livelihood development.
