NLRC RAB XII Facilitates P2.3 Million Settlement for 42 Loose Fruit Pickers
Koronadal City – Demonstrating its continued commitment to fair labor practices and efficient dispute resolution, the National Labor Relations Commission – Regional Arbitration Branch XII (NLRC RAB XII) successfully facilitated a settlement amounting to ₱2,337,292.00 in favor of 42 Loose Fruit Pickers who filed a complaint for money claims and 13th month pay against a multi-purpose cooperative.
An amicable settlement was reached through the efforts of the Office of Labor Arbiter Ma. Clarissa M. Muego, with valuable assistance from Labor Arbitration Associate Pobleo B. Allera and Administrative Assistant V Jocelyn A. Parco.
The complainants, composed of agricultural workers engaged in fruit picking activities, filed their claims after alleging non-payment of mandated benefits, including their 13th month pay. Through the conciliation-mediation process facilitated by NLRC RAB XII, both parties reached a mutually acceptable resolution.
This development underscores the NLRC’s unwavering dedication to promoting industrial peace by providing workers and employers a venue for the speedy, fair, and peaceful resolution of labor disputes.
