NLRC Holds Hybrid Lecture on Latest Labor Jurisprudence

Quezon City — The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) successfully conducted a hybrid lecture on labor jurisprudence on June 5, 2025 at the 7th Floor Conference Room of the Ben-Lor Building along Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. The activity was attended by Commissioners, Labor Arbiters and Commission Attorneys from various divisions of the Commission.

The lecture, titled “Practical, Peculiar, Earthshaking, and Latest Labor Jurisprudence,” was delivered by OIC-Presiding Commissioner Leonard Vinz O. Ignacio of the NLRC Fourth Division. Drawing from his experience and legal insight, Commissioner Ignacio underscored the importance of staying current with recent decisions and legal developments in the field of labor law.

He encouraged the participants to develop the habit of reading updated legal publications and engaging in continuous legal research. Commissioner Ignacio emphasized that staying regularly informed of the latest jurisprudence helps ensure that the Commission’s decisions remain firmly grounded in law and aligned with evolving judicial interpretations.

He also pointed out that the NLRC strives to maintain a strong affirmation rate from the higher courts, which is a key indicator of the soundness and reliability of the Commission’s rulings.

Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan, in her closing remarks, urged the participants to apply the knowledge they had gained and to share their insights with their colleagues within the Commission. She stressed the importance of using what they had learned to enhance the quality of their work and to support the Commission’s goal of promoting just and effective labor dispute resolution.

This activity forms part of the Commission’s ongoing capacity-building efforts to uphold competence, consistency, and credibility in the delivery of labor justice.
