QUEZON CITY—The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) officially kicked-off its 2025 Sportsfest at The Arena, Amoranto Sports Complex on October 16, 2025. The event was organized as part of the NLRC’s 51st Founding Anniversary celebration aimed to promote employee welfare, foster camaraderie, and encourage physical fitness among NLRC officials and employees.

The ceremony began with a parade consisting of 235 players from the NLRC Main Office and the NCR Arbitration Branch (NCRAB). Cheers echoed throughout the Arena as the participating teams showcased their enthusiasm.

Presiding Commissioner Julia Cecily I. Coching-Sosito of the Second Division welcomed and reminded all the participants to compete with integrity, cheer with enthusiasm, and treat every opponent with respect.

The program continued with an inspirational message from Commissioner Mary Ann F. Plata-Daytia, Chairperson of the Committee on Sports, highlighting the importance of work-life balance and sportsmanship.

Philippine Basketball Association star players from Rain or Shine Elasto Painters namely, Capt. Gian Mamuyac, Adrian Clarence Go Nocum, and Gabe Norwood graced the opening ceremony and led the participants in reciting the Oath of Sportsmanship. The program was followed by the torch relay and the ceremonial toss, officially marking the start of the games.

The event also featured the parade and intermission of the muses from four different teams. Ms. Patrice Mae Oñez of Team A was announced as the NLRC Miss Sportsfest 2025.

NLRC Employees Association President King Moriel S. Vergel delivered the closing message thanking all the employees for their active participation in the sports fest and the Management for its strong support to the activity.

The 2025 sportsfest will take place in different locations until November 2025. Selected NLRC employees from the Main Office, NCRAB, RAB III , and RAB IV are set to take part in a total of eight sports events namely, basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess, scrabble, darts, Mobile Legends, and bowling.
