NLRC RAB in Koronadal City Settles Claims of 32 Farm Workers from South Cotabato
Koronadal City – In a significant development for labor rights in the agricultural sector, the National Labor Relations Commission Regional Arbitration Branch XII (NLRC RAB XII) has successfully settled the claims of 32 farm workers from the towns of Surallah, T'boli, Banga, and Polomolok in the province of South Cotabato against a prominent agricultural plantation company operating in the region.
The total settlement amount reached P21,345,928.68, covering backwages, separation pay, and premium pay for the workers. This substantial amount highlights the magnitude of the grievances addressed and the comprehensive resolution provided by the NLRC.
The settlement was facilitated by Labor Arbiter (LA) Ma. Lourdes Romeli D. Juliano and Labor Arbitration Associate (LAA) Pobleo B. Allera, whose efforts were instrumental in bringing about this resolution. Their dedication to ensuring a fair and equitable settlement highlights the crucial role of the NLRC in safeguarding workers' rights and promoting industrial peace.
Representing a major victory for the farm workers, the settlement addresses considerable hardships faced while awaiting their claims.
