NLRC Wins 2nd Runner-Up in DOLE AI Hackathon Competition
Quezon City. – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), in collaboration with other offices, clinched the 2nd runner-up spot in the recently concluded DOLE AI Hackathon Competition held on September 6, 2024, at the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) in Quezon City.
Representing the NLRC was Mr. Christian Ericson B. Soriano, a Computer Programmer III and Head of the NLRC Data Center. The team successfully presented a concept paper for two systems: an internal procurement management system and an external PhilJobNet chatbot.
Aiming to streamline internal processes within DOLE offices and attached agencies, including the NLRC, the procurement management system is designed to boost efficiency and transparency. Meanwhile, the PhilJobNet chatbot focuses on enhancing job-matching services and improving communication for job seekers using artificial intelligence.
NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan conveyed her pride in the team’s achievement, highlighting their innovative approach to integrating technology into the labor and employment services. She noted that the recognition reflects the NLRC’s dedication to continuously enhancing its systems and services to better serve the public.
The DOLE AI Hackathon Competition brought together various offices under the Department of Labor and Employment, promoting innovation and technology-driven solutions to enhance public service efficiency.
