NLRC Releases Over P623 Million in Judgment Awards for First Quarter of 2025
Quezon City – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) reported that a total of ?623,414,320.70 in judgment awards was released to 3,243 complainant-workers during the first quarter of 2025, covering the months of January to March.
The report, issued by the NLRC Financial and Management Division (FMD), reflects the total amount collected from respondents or losing parties in labor disputes who were ordered by the Commission to pay monetary claims to workers. These judgment awards stem from resolved cases involving illegal dismissal, underpayment of wages, non-payment of benefits, and other labor standard violations.
According to the FMD, the releases were processed in accordance with existing financial procedures and guidelines to ensure transparency, timeliness, and accountability in the disbursement of awards to affected workers.
NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan highlighted the Commission’s steadfast commitment to protecting workers’ rights and ensuring the prompt execution of labor decisions. She noted that the release of over ?623 million in judgment awards during the first quarter of 2025 demonstrates the NLRC’s dedication to delivering swift and meaningful justice to labor claimants. She further emphasized that behind these figures are thousands of workers whose rights have been upheld and whose lives have been positively impacted.
Chairperson Maniquiz-Tan also commended the efforts of NLRC personnel for their efficiency in processing and releasing the awards, describing their work as a crucial element of justice beyond adjudication.
