NLRC RAB XI Satisfies Over P600K Judgment Award Through Public Auction of Levied Properties
Davao City – The National Labor Relations Commission, Regional Arbitration Branch XI (NLRC RAB XI), has successfully satisfied a total judgment award amounting to ?602,801.82 through the public auction of properties levied by the assigned sheriff, marking a significant milestone in enforcing labor justice through effective post-adjudication measures.
The judgment award benefitted two complainant-workers—a saleslady and an encoder—who filed a labor complaint against a retail and merchandising company. This case involved illegal dismissal with money claims and other monetary benefits, which were subsequently ruled in favor of the workers after due proceedings.
After the respondent company failed to voluntarily comply with the decision, the NLRC RAB XI initiated execution proceedings, resulting in the levy of certain assets belonging to the employer. These properties were then subjected to a public auction, in accordance with legal procedures, to satisfy the monetary judgment.
The Commission encourages all parties involved in labor disputes to comply promptly with final and executory decisions to avoid further legal costs and enforcement proceedings. Likewise, complainants are advised to remain vigilant and to coordinate closely with NLRC offices for proper guidance on the execution of monetary awards.
This successful enforcement highlights the NLRC’s continued efforts to ensure swift and meaningful justice for workers, while maintaining transparency and accountability in labor dispute resolution.
