Quezon City – In line with the government’s directive to ensure the prudent use of public resources, the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) has issued comprehensive guidelines on the management and maintenance of its transport equipment and services. The new issuance is anchored on the Commission’s commitment to the diligent use of government motor vehicles and in compliance with the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) monitoring requirements.

Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan emphasized that the guidelines are intended to promote the responsible utilization, timely maintenance, and systematic monitoring of the NLRC’s transport assets, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and supporting environmental sustainability. She noted that the issuance reinforces the Commission’s duty to uphold accountability in the use of public resources while aligning with the government’s energy conservation objectives.

The guidelines include provisions on the proper assignment, dispatch, preventive maintenance, and fuel monitoring of all NLRC motor vehicles. It also reiterates that the use of government vehicles must strictly adhere to official business purposes and in accordance with applicable laws, including restrictions on personal or unauthorized use.

As part of the implementation, designated vehicle custodians and transport coordinators are required to submit regular reports on fuel consumption, mileage, repairs, and usage patterns, which will be consolidated and submitted to the NLRC Administrative Division under its GEMP compliance protocol.

The issuance is part of the broader effort of the NLRC to modernize internal systems, ensure sustainability in service delivery, and uphold transparency and accountability in public service.
