NLRC Regional Arbitration Branches Join Nationwide Earthquake Drill

In line with the government's continuing efforts to promote disaster preparedness and resilience, the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), through its Regional Arbitration Branches (RABs), actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on September 11, 2025. This activity is pursuant to Memorandum No. 27, s. 2025 issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Across the country, officials and employees of the RABs carried out earthquake response protocols, including the Duck, Cover, and Hold technique and the orderly evacuation to designated safe zones. Personnel also wore their issued PPE safety helmets to underscore the importance of compliance with safety measures.

NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan highlighted the significance of the RABs’ participation, stressing that disaster preparedness is a shared responsibility across all regions. She emphasized that the Commission’s active involvement in the drill demonstrates its commitment not only to ensuring the safety of its personnel but also to protecting the clients and stakeholders who depend on its services.

The activity reaffirmed the NLRC’s dedication to supporting national disaster risk reduction initiatives while ensuring institutional readiness and public safety. By embedding preparedness practices in its regional operations, the NLRC continues to build a resilient and responsive public service.
