NLRC Central Office Personnel Complete 3-Day Awareness, Lifesaving and Emergency Response Training
Quezon City. – Employees of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) Central Office successfully completed a three-day Awareness, Lifesaving, and Emergency Response Training Program conducted by the Quezon City Government and the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (QCDRRMC). The capacity-building initiative was held in three batches on November 12–14, 2025, November 19–21, 2025, and November 24–26, 2025, respectively.
The training sessions took place at three major Quezon City venues: SM North EDSA Annex Atrium, Ayala Fairview Terraces, and the Amoranto Sports Complex. Each location was selected to provide adequate space for hands-on activities, practical demonstrations, and lectures on disaster preparedness.
The program aimed to strengthen the NLRC workforce’s readiness during emergencies and enhance their capability to respond to fire incidents, earthquakes, medical crises, and other unforeseen hazards. Participants received instruction on basic life support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), proper use of fire extinguishers, evacuation procedures, and initial first aid techniques. Simulated rescue scenarios were also conducted to reinforce learning and ensure that employees could apply essential lifesaving skills under pressure.
NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan expressed appreciation for the partnership with the Quezon City Government and QCDRRMC, describing the initiative as a vital step toward safeguarding employees, clients, and stakeholders who rely on NLRC services. She also emphasized that emergency readiness is a shared responsibility and that continued investments in disaster resilience remain a priority for the organization.
The three-week training cycle forms part of the NLRC’s ongoing efforts to promote a safe and disaster-prepared work environment in compliance with national government directives on workplace safety, disaster responsiveness, and public service continuity.
