NLRC Strengthens Camaraderie Through 2025 Team-Building Activities
Candelaria, Zambales – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) Main Office and National Capital Region (NCR) Arbitration Branch successfully conducted their annual Team-Building Activities from March 27-29, 2025, at Dawal Beach Resort in Candelaria, Zambales.
Designed to strengthen camaraderie among employees, the event also served as a venue for disseminating the Code of Conduct and Rules on Disposition of Sexual Harassment Reports, Complaints, and Cases in the NLRC.
The team-building activities kicked off with various parlor games, including the rock-paper-scissors hopping game, a pentathlon relay race, and the Mr. and Ms. NLRC pageant. This pageant featured representatives from the Red and Blue Teams, who showcased their creativity and wit through a “trashion show,” utilizing recycled materials, followed by a Question and Answer portion. Employees also participated enthusiastically in basketball and volleyball games, promoting sportsmanship and fostering stronger workplace bonds.
On March 28, 2025, an orientation seminar on the Code of Conduct and Rules on Disposition of Sexual Harassment Reports, Complaints, and Cases in the NLRC was held. Following its publication in the Official Gazette on December 23, 2024, and registration with the Office of National Administrative Register (ONAR) on March 13, 2025, the seminar served as an essential information campaign to guide all NLRC employees on the Code's key features.
Presiding Commissioner Dolores M. Peralta-Beley of the Fifth Division emphasized the importance of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) as a cornerstone in maintaining the integrity of the NLRC’s decision-making processes. She underscored its role in guiding employees to navigate their responsibilities with the highest ethical standards and emphasized the shared commitment to creating an environment of respect, accountability, and fairness within the workplace.
Commissioner Gina F. Cenit-Escoto of the First Division and Chairperson of the NLRC-CODI stressed the Commission’s duty to prevent, deter, and address sexual harassment in the workplace. She also highlighted the need for CODI members to uphold confidentiality in handling such cases. The seminar concluded with an open forum and a practical role-playing exercise, ensuring a dynamic and educational experience for all attendees.
Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan commended the National Labor Relations Commission Employees Association (NLRCEA) for successfully organizing the event. She also expressed gratitude to all officials and employees who contributed to and participated in the activities.
Chairperson Maniquiz-Tan acknowledged the competitive spirit displayed throughout the event while emphasizing the unity and sportsmanship among NLRC officials and employees. She noted that, beyond the team competitions, the event fostered a sense of shared purpose and strengthened the NLRC’s collective identity.
