NLRC-CAR Facilitates Release of Over P1 Million in Monetary Awards for Workers in Cordillera

Baguio City – Underscoring its steadfast commitment to labor justice, the National Labor Relations Commission – Cordillera Administrative Region (NLRC-CAR) has successfully facilitated the release of a total of ₱1,096,603.48 in monetary awards to nine workers from various industries in the region.

The employees came from diverse sectors, including food service, information technology, utilities, customer service, and entertainment. The monetary releases were made following favorable rulings and settlement in their respective labor cases, ensuring that workers received their rightful compensation.

In one case, a production checker received ₱43,451.72 as payment for overtime work rendered at a food service company.

Another case involved three business marketing staff from an IT company who were awarded ₱27,909.06 in overtime pay.

Separately, three IT officers formerly employed by an electric cooperative received a total of ₱987,182.71 as separation pay.

A customer service advisor secured ₱32,533.99 in unpaid salary from a service provider firm.

Lastly, a dancer employed by a local resto bar was awarded ₱5,526.00, representing her 13th month pay.

The successful release of these monetary awards was made possible through the diligent efforts of Ms. Geralyn M. Sison and Ms. Mary Liezl D. Sangway of the NLRC-CAR.

This development reflects NLRC-CAR’s ongoing commitment to uphold workers’ rights and enforce labor decisions that contribute to industrial peace and social justice in the region.
