NLRC Sub-RAB IX Facilitates Release of Over ₱1.6 Million Judgment Award for Hotel and Retail Workers

Dipolog City — The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) Sub-Regional Arbitration Branch IX (Sub-RAB IX) successfully facilitated the release of judgment awards totaling ₱1,695,234.74 in favor of workers from the hotel and retail industries.

The award covers two separate cases. In the first, five hotel staff members received a combined settlement of ₱1,364,867.33, representing separation pay, backwages, 13th month pay, and other benefits due from their former employer, a hotel company. In the second case, a merchandiser of a local meat shop was granted ₱330,367.41, which likewise included separation pay, backwages, and other statutory benefits.

The release of the judgment awards was facilitated with the assistance of Sheriff Christian Eric H. Agudera and Labor Arbitration Associate Michael S.M. Yee, ensuring that the workers were able to promptly receive what was rightfully awarded to them under the decision of the Labor Arbiter.

The NLRC Sub-RAB IX underscored that the successful enforcement of these awards reaffirms its continuing commitment to uphold workers’ rights and ensure compliance with labor standards through fair, just, and efficient resolution of labor disputes.

By carrying out its mandate, the NLRC aims to safeguard the welfare of both employees and employers, fostering industrial peace and strengthening public trust in the country’s labor justice system.
