NLRC Joins International Coastal Cleanup in Celebration of ICC Day and 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary
Quezon City – The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) will join the celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day and the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary on September 20, 2025.
The ICC is recognized as the world’s largest volunteer effort for ocean and waterway protection, aimed at reducing pollution, safeguarding marine ecosystems, and mitigating the risks of flooding caused by waste accumulation along coastal areas.
In an office advisory, NLRC Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan encouraged all officials and employees of the Commission to participate in the cleanup drive as a demonstration of their solidarity with fellow civil servants in advancing environmental protection and public accountability. She underscored that environmental stewardship is not only a civic duty but also a core aspect of responsible public service.
The NLRC’s participation in the ICC aligns with its commitment to promote sustainable practices within and outside the workplace, while also strengthening its role in nationwide efforts toward climate resilience and ecological preservation.
By joining this global movement, the Commission reaffirmed its resolve to integrate environmental accountability into public service, ensuring that its mandate of delivering labor justice goes hand in hand with caring for the environment and the communities it serves.
