NLRC Looks Back at 2025 Activities
The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) capped off 2025 by reflecting on a year marked by sustained institutional activity, strengthened stakeholder engagement, and continued efforts to improve the delivery of labor justice across the country.
Reflecting on the Commission’s accomplishments, Chairperson Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan emphasized the NLRC’s commitment to institutional reform and responsive public service, noting that the initiatives undertaken in 2025 demonstrate the Commission’s dedication to strengthening labor justice mechanisms while adapting to the evolving needs of both workers and employers.
Throughout the year, the Commission actively pursued initiatives aimed at ensuring the efficient, fair, and accessible resolution of labor disputes. A major milestone in 2025 was the Amendment of the NLRC Rules of Procedure, which introduced targeted reforms to enhance procedural clarity, streamline processes, and strengthen the effective enforcement of decisions.
The NLRC also undertook a series of capacity-building activities for its officials and employees. Trainings, workshops, and consultations were conducted to reinforce legal competence, procedural accuracy, and ethical standards in the discharge of official duties. In line with these efforts, the Commission also signed several Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with various stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, institutional partnerships, and coordinated service delivery. These initiatives contributed to strengthening institutional readiness and professional development within the Commission.
In terms of service accessibility, the Commission actively engaged in information dissemination and labor education activities. These included briefings for stakeholders, coordination meetings with partner agencies, and participation in inter-agency forums.
Operationally, the NLRC sustained its focus on case management and docket efficiency. Regular monitoring of case flow, the implementation of time-bound actions, and adherence to prescribed timelines were emphasized to reduce delays and improve the overall pace of case resolution. Execution-related activities were likewise reinforced to ensure the effective enforcement of final and executory decisions.
The Commission also maintained continuity of services through administrative and support initiatives, including improvements in records management, enhanced coordination among Regional Arbitration Branches, and internal process enhancements designed to support frontline adjudicatory functions.
As it looks back on its 2025 activities, the NLRC reaffirms its commitment to continuous institutional improvement and responsive governance. Moving forward, the Commission remains focused on strengthening its programs, deepening stakeholder engagement, and advancing reforms that uphold the constitutional mandate of protecting labor and promoting industrial peace.
